1999 V70xc turbo engine replacement
I am at a crossroads and I would like to get some opinions on how to proceed. My 99 V70xc, which has 140,000 miles, and I have spent 2 years repairing and maintaining has a dead 5th cylinder and the local Volvo mechanic states it needs a Valve/head replacement which he cannot do. After a call to the...

Oil disappearing
I'm baffled by the loss of oil i am experiencing. I had an issue with it leaking from the filter housing after I took it in for anoil change, but I corrected that. I can't find any other leaks. I assume I could be burning it, but my exhaust doesn't seem to show that. I haven't gauged exactly how muc...

V70/XC 1999 Clanging noise from below.
I have a V70/XC with 125,000 miles on it. I'm getting a loud clanging noise almost like something is striking one of the wheels as it moves. The noise only appears when the car is warmed up, and while in motion. The speed of the noise is directly related to the speed of travel, and seems to get loud...

Re: V70/XC 1999 Strange vibration
The tune up wasn't that long ago, although one of the engine mounts was replaced at that time. It started in warmer weather although it is cold now.

V70/XC 1999 Strange vibration
I'm having a strange issue which occurs between 2000 and 2500 RPMs under 50 MPH. It's a vibration from the engine compartment that almost feels like a stall but there is no loss of power. In addition I have an rattle that sounds as if there's something loose which gets louder if I turn. I'm about to...

S70 1998 Short in Directional Signal circuit
When the car is shifted from park to any drive or reverse position, the directional signal circuit fuse blows. Is there a wire harness near the shifting mechanism or near the automatic transmission where the shift lever moves which could be shorting it out?
Thanks for any help.

Re: V70/XC 1999 Rear window won't go up?
Turns out it was the master switch on the driver's door. I cleaned the contacts and it works fine. Almost bought a new one but thankfully i tried cleaning it first. Thanks for all the help i appreciate it.

Sounds like it must be the master switch, all the wiring tests out, and the rear switch is brand new. I'll check out the master switch and let you know.

V70/XC 1999 Rear window won't go up?
OK, I have a rear window that will go down but won't go up. I tested the motor with direct current the window goes up and down, Next i replaced the control switch after finding out they tend to go bad. Window won't go up again even though i put in the new switch. I ran voltage through all the wiring...

Re: The ETM letter to owners
I appreciate your reply, I get the impression i'm in for a monumental jerk job, and i'm going to end up fixing their mistake using my money. My ETM isn't acting up yet therefore i'd assume it would be even harder for me to get them to fix it. Its sad that this is the approach they are taking to poor...
