A possibility is to do away with the OD and make it a four speed auto, IPD has a convert part that lets the trans do it's thing without the electric switch. It makes sense in alot of cases.

I stopped to fill the tank, and when I went to leave I turned the key and nothing, the dash lights didn't go out no starter and the auto trans was locked in park. I have never run into this in the fifteen yrs driving the 240's. The battery is less than 6months old and i'm at a loss?
