On top of the engine there are 2 check valves on the 2 different vaccuum lines. They'er about the 2 inches long and 1 inch or so in diameter. and probably 1/2 black & 1/2 white. 1 goes to the vaccuum canister that controls the baffles, and the other goes the the temp. sensor in the cabin (you ha...

The most likely candidate for intermittant stalling on these are 3 things (I had a car that had all 3 go wrong @ once... what a nightmare) 1st, the FI relay. As they get old, the solder holding the relay to it's board cracks, causing an intermittant failure of the FI and ignition system. Relatively ...

Make sure the flame trap isn't plugged, causing pressure in the crankcase to force oil out. That can cause all kinds of leaks. And the oil cap gaskets are prone to getting brittle and causing crappy seals, too. Check and see if the oil cap stays in place @ idle if you unscrew it. Normally, the vacuu...

Few things to check for no spark condition. First, the hall effect sensor. Your 89 does not have a sensor on the crank (came a year later) It's on the distributor, on the back of the motor, check on the bottom (6:00 position) for a little plastic clip with wires coming from it. These little clips br...

You're list sounds lika a good start. I'd recommend changing the anti-freeze and all the hoses & thermostat (don't forget the ones from the block to the heater core, either) And 60k is the limit for t-belts on later cars. 92 and earlier use a different design, and the limit for them is about 40,...

Have you replaced the cap & rotor lately? moisture may be getting into cracks in the cap, causing the symptoms you're describing when it's wet out. As far as the check engine light, your car should have an OBD system that will flash out codes, telling you why that light is on, including bad or m...

High NOX are product of high cumbustion temps, caused by a couple things. Vacuum leaks, causing a lean mixture drive it up. You changed the O2 sensor, which richened the mixture (CO went from .02 to 1.13,). Still passed, and brought down NOx by 20%. So maybe check the mixture. It may still be a litt...
