Is it the same as the crank shaft sensor?

I have a 1993 240DL that stalls occasionally at stops. Restarts after a couple minutes. Checked the codes today and got a 214 code for the RPM senser.
Can someone explain what I need to do to fix it please?

UPDATE: Here is what I found out about the oil leak. When the car is running it drips a drop every once in a while. When it is turned off after driving it leaks it in a stream for a couple of minutes and then goes back to just dripping. It is coming from the rear seal. Other than that issue it runs ...

Ok he just told me he bought a used one from Ebay but it does not work either. any other ideas? He was told that the computer needed to be reprogrammed. That"s why I asked. The car isn't in front of me at this time so I don't have eyes on it. It's driving me crazy not having it here! LOL

Ok, I am going to buy this Volvo for $400. I used to have a 1985 240 wagon. Anyway, the ECM has been removed. I will be putting another in so I have a couple questions.
What are the steps for replacing it?
I've seen that I may need to reprogram it? If so, how do I do that?

Does this year and model have OBD?
