Okay well I put the drive belts on and got them straight. It didnt start I am charging the battery now so I can try it again. I was checking out the internet looking for information on my engine to make sure I didnt have the engine type that damaged when the belt breaks.

Yep you were right. Timing belt snapped in half. Thank you for your help.
Now I cant get the drive belts reinstalled.

Hello all,
I have a problem. My 240DL 1988 was doing 55 then suddenly the oil light came on and a small pop and it cut off no smoke. I coasted to the side of the road and checked the oil and it was a half a quart low. Not enough IMHO to blow the engine plus the pop wasnt that big. I won't start but ...
