Re: White Smoke, No Coolant Leak, Losing Oil
I Vote for the cam seals as the reason for the oil level drop. I had that problem with my '98 S-70 non-turbo. It cost me about $280 to have them replaced and it hasn't used a drop for the last six months.

Re: Antenna connections, 816 Radio in a 1998 S-70
Well, Now and then and sometimes so "Scratchie" you cant understand it; I have tried spitting in the back and giving it a good THUMP, but that don't seem to help. I kind of suspect its a loose solder point like happens to the ABS controllers. Should I point out that I live down a dirt road...

Antenna connections, 816 Radio in a 1998 S-70
Guys, I've got a real problem with the Radio in 1998 S-70. Its a model 816 with the CD Player and tape Player. The problem is that the AM section goes out; It gets all scratchie/buzzie and I can't get a clear station, just occasional snatches of sound. I pulled it out and made sure the antenna was w...

Re: What has failed on your 1992-2000 FWD or AWD Volvo?
I just had to have the Cam Shaft Seals replaced on my 1998 S-70 (Non-Turbo) I was losing oil there like crazy; Thought it was the PCV Oil Separator, BUT after replacing the seals, they checked the crankcase pressure and found ALL to be normal. BTW, If you are around Tampa or Brandon, FL; Bergman's F...

Re: Fuel Pump Recall announced
General cut off date for repairs on any automobile part recall is generally 10 years, sadly your 2000 falls outside of that parameter and thus isn't covered. It would have been nice IF volvo had stepped up and done the job, but as with any company, don't hold your breath waiting for it.

Re: 1999 S70 Cruise Control failure - Cabin filter success.
No., I sure didn't. Sorry it took me so long to get back to this. I went out and looked just yesterday (my Dog thought for sure that I was going some place and insisted on sitting in the auto until it was clear that I wasn't going) I checked under the hood in front of the windshield and across that ...

Key release when parking
Okay, I know I saw something on this topic a while back, but I can't find it. Here's what happened: I pulled into my car port, put my '98 S-70 in PARK, turned the engine OFF and then tried to remove the key from the ignition. I couldn't get it out; I turn it back on and again put the shift in park a...

Re: 1999 S70 Cruise Control failure - Cabin filter success.
I've got a 1998 S-70 and I've been wondering where the cabin air filter is located. The dang owners manual says nothing and neither do any of the repair manuals. I suspect it need changing as I live down a dusty dirt road.

Re: Goodbye to a great car. Thanks for all your help here.
Yeah, I lost my 850 to an accident about 5 years ago; Some old duffer (83) suffered some sort of stroke, and at 45 mph rammed a pickup which was driven into the back end of my car. I'd only had it about 3 months, bought from the original owner, always on synthetic oil and ALL the required maintenanc...

Re: Spray paint
You "might" be able to remove it with lacquer thinner. Find an inconspicuous spot else where on the car and check that the Original factory coating isn't softened or removed. If you can and do use the lacquer thinner, be very gentle with the wiping and use a very soft cloth. The Factory Bl...
