JMAC, I have a 2004 S60. There is a hidden manual key lock next to the door handle. Your XC70 may have one too.

S60 2004 Rear door power lock problem
2004 S60 2.5T. The rear passenger side door locks back up when the inside or outside handle is pulled. This only happens in cold weather and only this door. The car 
has power door locks. What can cause this?
