We're trying to replace the shocks on our 2003 XC90 and it looks like we have to remove the 3rd row seats to get to the top nut and bolt on the shocks.

Can anyone give any guidance (pics, links, etc.) or have any resources on how best to do this?

The rear shocks or struts have worn out on our 2003 XC90 after 171K miles. Is this a repair that you can do yourself? The "shocks" are inside the spring, that I can see. I found an "OEM/Volvo shock retaining nut strut removal socket tool" at Autozone for $24.99 part number 24365 ...

Does anyone know the NAPA (or other manufacturer) for the hood and tailgate struts for the XC90? I will assume that any aftermarket brand will be cheaper than the Volvo parts.

Our local dealer tells us the they should be the same for model years 2003-2012.
