I think there are three different angle flanges on the 1998-00 models so compare them to make sure you have the right one I don't know whether you're speaking about the angle gear and the rear flange for the drive shaft or if you're talking about the angled flanges on the hot side of the turbos bet...

So I picked up a 2000 straight OE downpipe and I'm putting it on a 99 V70R since the original S-bend downpipe, sheared off at the turbo flange. My question remains... How do I test to see that the steering U joint is the issue NOT the rack?

The system has been thoroughly bleed.

So I have thrown an known good pump on and the steering is still tight and binding. I need an alignment anyway so I am going to throw a full rack and tie rod ends at my saffron.
