Re: Brake Fluid Inside Car
I had a situation where brake fluid was leaking inside the car. I can say that it was the direct result of a missed step during a front brake pad and rotor replacement job. By not removing the brake fluid reservoir cap before pushing the caliper pistons in, I believe it forced the excess fluid into ...

Re: 2000 Volvo S80 P0442 code?
Thanks Astouffer, but I'd prefer not to splice my new part. I found the following post on another forum and plan to attempt: the hose is the one that runs from the charcoal canister to the shutoff valve both of which are above the rear suspension, not the pvc hard plastic tubing. this is a rubber h...

Re: 2000 Volvo S80 P0442 code?
Purchased J hose (Part #1270255). Will I be able to get to this by putting the car on jack stands or does it require a garage with a lift? I heard gaining access to this hose is complex. Anyone supplying information would be greatly appreciated. AllData does not go into that level of detail.

2000 Volvo S80 P0442 code?
I realize that each problem is unique, but does anyone have information about common failure points for this code? I don't believe it is a fuel cap seal problem. Just curious to know if anyone has information related to this topic. I was going to start by examining the J hose between the fuel tank a...

Re: 2000 S80 - Driver side control arm
Update: Control Arm replacement completed. As it turns out, the only bolt I had to remove was the front engine pad bolt matt5112 described. Once this bolt was removed, I was able to jack the engine up to provide the needed clerance to access the engine facing control arm bolts. Thanks to all who pro...

Re: 2000 S80 - Driver side control arm
matt5112, Thanks for the information. I was unsure if I had to remove the motor mount on the passenger side to get enough movement on the engine to jack it up. It sounds like not. I will try the job by unbolting the 3 bolts you suggest. Volvo S80, Thanks for your post as well. Unfortunately it does ...

Re: ETM repair
Sorry for the lateness in responding. You have probably already taken action. But if not, I replaced my ETM with a remanufactured ETM from a company call XEMODEX out of Mississauga, Ontario (Canada). They offer a life-time warranty and their remanufactured ETMs are built with contact-less potentiome...

2000 S80 - Driver side control arm
The 2 bolts which thread into the front control arm bushing on the driver's side are not accessable (even with a low profile socket wrench). Can someone please advise as to what motor mount bolts I need to loosen in order to jack the engine up about an inch so that I can remove these? Please be spec...

98 S70 - Replacing Windows Switch
How do I remove the old driver side window switch on a 98 S70? I removed the one Torx screw in the handled, but there must be others which either hold it in, or does it just pop out? Can anyone offer assistance?
