Saying Goodby to this forum

To all members of this forum: As the year closes to an end, it is well appropriate to say good bye to all that have helped me maintain, enabled me to perform unvaluable repairs of my old Volvo 850 GLT. After so many years...(almost 19 years of usage) I finally had to let it go, as it had become a co...

Re: Looking for the Cure for P0455, Trouble Code

My car is a 96, so it does not have this type of shut up valve. However I got the problem solved some times now: I found out that the short rubber hose off the gas tank going to the inline valve hiding by the fuel filter had a large crack along side of it. The crack was along side the underside of t...

I think it happens to people that reset the trip a lot sooner than later. Agreed! Specially for drivers who tend to reset while the car is in motion. I happened to have replaced that small gear twice. I instinctively reset the odo while I was travelling over 50miles with the newly installed gear. I...

I have seen on the web experimental stories of people using an electronic gadget to feed a signal to the ECU port in place of the downstream O2 sensor. I do not know myself whether it is a common practice.
Is there any clearance on the other side, there is usually a port hole opposite?

Could you indicate which code(s) you are getting when your CEL is on?
If you are using a scanner, verify if you are either getting a single or multiple codes.
This would help narrow down the issue, there may be several codes related to the emission problems due to O2 sensors and cat.

As a follow up on this issue, did anyone with an existing defective MAF do some resistance test on the bench to find out if the condition of the unit can be determined?

Hi Jimbee; What I'm wondering is can we novices accomplish a simple continuity test, or tests, between sets of pins accessible—first, without opening the unit? Re: Replacing the coolant expansion tank?

Hi nadz;
I doubt you can find the hoses at Autozone.
I bought the tank on eBay for 5 bucks.

I had to order the hoses from:
auto-parts.fcpgroton.com/coolant-hose--make-Volvo--product_type-Cooling-Hoses

Very inexpensive, and my dealers did not have them in stock!. You will save almost 60%.
