Re: 1998 S70 T5 radiator leak upper passenger side
My GLT radiator had an internal leak that resulted in oil in the coolant reservoir. Replacing the radiator resolved that problem. My T5 is spraying coolant from the area where the smaller diameter hose meets the radiator at the upper turbo port. I'm wondering what the problem could be before I disco...

1998 S70 T5 radiator leak upper passenger side
There is a leak where the small diameter hose (turbo cooler?) meets the upper passenger side of the radiator. I can't tell if the leak is in the hose fitting or on the radiator port. Is there an o-ring that might have failed? If the crack is on the radiator side, can the port be replaced or does the...

1998 S70 GLT 165K short coolant hose behind engine burst
There is a short coolant hose behind the engine on the passenger side being fed from the overflow tank. I noticed it was swollen and went to the dealership to get a replacement. They couldn't find it on their diagram and suggested I just replace it with a generic coolant hose. Well, it burst and dra...

Re: 1998 S70 T5 riding low-tires rubbing against wheel well
I took a closer look at the struts and noticed the right side bellows seems to have separated from the bump stop and the strut piston was exposed to the elements. I'm tempted to just replace the right side assembly to confirm that is the source of the problem. Or, is it wiser to do both sides since ...

Re: 1998 S70 T5 riding low-tires rubbing against wheel well
Stock 205-55-16's installed. It looks like I can get some used strut spring assemblies from a salvage yard to cover both possibilities. Thanks.

1998 S70 T5 riding low-tires rubbing against wheel well
My 1998 S70 (210,000 mostly highway miles) appears to be sitting lower than normal. You can feel the tire hitting the wheel well when turning the steering wheel a few degrees to the right. Is it more likely the springs have sagged or the struts need to be replaced? Thanks.

Re: Freeze Plug on V70 intake manifold blew out
I was able to stake the plug in a couple spots, and wick some loctite around the plug without removing the manifold. The repair has held for over a year now.

Re: Freeze Plug on V70 intake manifold blew out
The last tune up was about 38,000 miles ago and I was hoping to get another 12,000 before doing it again. The car seemed to be running fine until the plug blew out. I'll secure the plug again and be on the look out for any hint of a backfire. It also sounds like it might be a good time to install a ...

Re: Freeze Plug on V70 intake manifold blew out
Thanks for the clarification. Before the plug blew out, the car started, idled and accelerated normally. The only indication of a problem before the plug blew out a was a check engine code indicating a cylinder misfire about a month earlier. The engine seemed to be operating normally so I cleared th...
