Re: 2008 Volvo XC90, 3.2 AWD, Transmission Flush

I just need to inspect the current transmission oil level of my 2009 V8 XC90 so wondering if the filler plug is in the same area as on this 3.2 trans or is it a totally different trans set up

Thanks anyone

This might not be relevant to all but before you accept it might be the starter motor, just make sure you have the correct battery, as my situation turned out to be, just the wrong battery !!. The trouble all started back in 2014 before I owned the car. The "from new" lady owner had it on lease from...

Fabulous write up CN9, the only thing I would add is that in the later models (mine is 2008) when it comes to adjusting the cable at the front console the thread at the front can not be leavered out as it's sealed and to tighten I just locked a pair of standard pliers around the metal sheaf at the f...

2008 XC 90 V8 starter motor fix (with photo's)

I had the common fault that seems to pop up regularly on this and other forums of the starter motor not engaging properly on these V8's, with sporadic catching and clicking with it finally starting but getting worse as the months went by. I did a lot of net research, trying to see what others had do...

2001 V70T5 8000K's away from home with no gears selecting

What has happened, my auto gear selection was working perfectly, then I stopped and re started but she wouldn't move. No faults listed, it's a mystery. When I pull the selector through all settings nothing responds, no reverse, no low gears, nothing, just a slight noise when putting into neutral as ...

Re: Camping holiday woes

To date I have done 8,200 K's and am currently in Kakadu and will be in Darwin later today, so will have done about 8500 K's. I have been sitting on a constant 130 K's an hour on the open territory highways in temperatures of 36 C and not missing a beat. The oil still looks a good colour but I plan ...

Re: Camping holiday woes

Hi Mike, I am keeping all receipts and will do a tot up once back home. My current average is 10.7 litres per 100 K's which to me seems low, but I guess that's because I am sitting most of the time on 130 K's an hour which is the NT's speed limit for outback highways. Hi I am on a camping trip in the V70 and on my first night away sleeping in the wagon I had to leave the ignition switch on at first setting in order to have power at my cigarette lighter as I have to run a sleep apnea machine. Air con switches on 10 mins after car has been switched off

Now here's a googly that has me totally confused. I had my 2001 V70 parked in my yard the other day unloading 35 boxes of business stuff. about halfway through unloading, I decided to go make a cup of tea. On return about 15 minutes later the air con had decided to switch itself on and was running a...

850 T5 air con stays on with switch off?

Here is an odd one...Took the old 94 850 T5 out for a burn today. (so much more fun than the V70 for road racing etc) For some reason the air con stays on permanently now. I have run through all the switches and fan several times but it makes no difference, it keeps coming out cold with all switches...

Hi guys, firstly a Happy New Year from down under.
