Re: '96 855t Replacing Shift Solenoids, Cover Currently Off
Well, I finally got the 850 fixed, after driving for months with the intermittent solenoid problem. I ordered the S2 from FCP Groton, but with the summer heat, I dreaded spending 8 hours under the car. Finally, I decided just to go to my local repair import repair shop and have them put it in. It to...

Re: 97 850 wagon P0750 shift solenoid "A"
I have to replace S2 myself on my '96 850 due to intermittent failure, and I can't imagine anything more frustrating than finding out I replaced the wrong one. I will definately check the pin 22 resistance when I unplug the old and after plugging in the new. The S1 wire is supposed to be green/white...

Re: A/C Fun Please help (Long, but detailed for better help)
So I charged the A/C system up with the kit from Advance - it was definately low at 25 psi, probably a slow leak somewhere, since it had not been charged in maybe 4-5 years. So one full 18 oz bottle (with some dye & oil) plus a couple of oz from another bottle - that seemed to have done the tric...

Re: '96 855t Replacing Shift Solenoids, Cover Currently Off
I suspect I have to replace the S2 on my '96 850 - it's showing P0755 and dropping into limp mode. I still need to measure the resistance - the problem is intermitent because I can clear the code with a scanner and it goes back to normal operation for a few days. So I am curious as to what the outco...

Re: A/C Fun Please help (Long, but detailed for better help)
I need to do a bit more diagnostics... I took a look at the electric shroud fan - that seems to come on just fine shortly after turning on the A/C. Then I noticed the compressor cycling a lot - similar to other posts here about low refrigerant. Now I get the blinking A/C and Recirc lights, so I'm go...

Re: A/C Fun Please help (Long, but detailed for better help)
This sounds very similar to a problem on my '96 850. The A/C blows nice and cold for about 6 minutes and then the power is cut to the A/C clutch and the air blows warm. I find that if I turn off the A/C on the console while driving, after a few minutes, I can turn it back on and get more cold air - ...
