Looks like I'll need to buy a few tools I already have, but can't access. Oh well, that's what Harbor Freight is for!
Thanks!

2002 S60 coil replacement - can do?
My 2002 s60 was running fine, until the other day. At idle it was running real rough, like a cylinder was out of commission, above 35 it smoothed out. The message panel was advising to shift up or shift down, and the check engine light was blinking. I take it into a Volvo garage, he hooks it up to v...

Light mystery
After getting a "multiple bulb failure" trouble message I checked the lights and found that both side marker lights, the ones ahead of the doors, were out. I p[o[pped out the one in front of the driver door, the bulb seemed okay, but there was very little voltage to the socket, less than 2...

Re: Battery seems drained for odd reasons.
Thanks - I'll go through the post.
I was thinking starter cable, or starter solenoid. One other observation - the digital clock resets when this happens.

Battery seems drained for odd reasons.
2002 S60. Replaced battery about 4 months ago when I had an issue with the fan running on and on which would kill the battery. That problem's been fixed. Everything seems fine, except the battery dies for almost no reason. If we stop the engine and turn on the emergency blinkers for just 4 or 5 minu...

Re: fan runs on and on and on and on and......
So, here’s where I’m at… I didn’t have the time to find a new fan, so I would drive and then shut down the Volvo, open the hood, and unplug the power connector to the fan so as not to drain the battery as the fan wouldn’t turn off. Then I’d open the hood and reconnect it each time I needed to drive....

Re: fan runs on and on and on and on and......
Took out the fan unit today, and it is the culprit, so I need to decide how to get the beast back on the road. A replacement unit runs about $200 . But then it looks like this device, for $27, might do the trick also . It has a temp probe and relay that one hooks inline with the power source, when t...

Re: fan runs on and on and on and on and......
Unplugging the purple CEM wire does not stop the fan from running - so it sound like I'll be replacing the fan assembly. Thank you draser for that tip, I really appreciate you taking the time to share your knowledge. Ebay has it listed for around $125. Anyone know of a place I Southern CA that might...

Re: fan runs on and on and on and on and......
The fan works, do not replace the fan It's a relay or something else controlling the fan The fan is part of the fan assembly, which also has a control module. So although the fan with its motor may work fine, if the attached control module is broke then the entire assembly needs to be replaced - th...
