Re: t-belt cover
Once I heard plastic cracking, I figured this piece was done for, so I got a little heavy-handed with it. I'm sure it's gonna be a joy putting the new one in. BTW, the DW price is killer. Wish I would have seen this thread before I ordered (a new inner timing gear casing). It is a lot easier to scra...

Don't worry about it, the same size bolts have the same size holes.

Re: Subframe bracket bolts are... missing
IPD sells those bolts for six bucks.

Oh wait, you mean the ones holding the rear brackets to the subframe, not the actual bushing bolt. Yeah, those might be different, I haven't checked.

Re: HD CBV chewed a ring in my turbo
Hey madspeed50, I'd be interested to know if your stock turbo has similar wear from the bypass valve. I had been planning to put a 15G wheel on this turbo and get an ARD Green ecu tune. More boost could increase the wear even more though, so now I'm not sure what to do. Maybe buy that newer housing ...

I didn't think you'd really use a Dremel tool on that.

Re: HD CBV chewed a ring in my turbo
Yes it looks uneven. What is the cause of this? Did I not put the spring in perfectly? Bad spring? The housing I was gonna buy has the same thing, just not as bad. Maybe tightening down the CBV cover tweaked the spring to one side? Perhaps I'll get the Forge CBV, or go back to a stock Mitsubishi spr...

Re: HD CBV chewed a ring in my turbo
That was from the lighter spring, the blue one. I just found a used turbo housing for cheap, removed from a Volvo 40 series. Asked the guy if it had a ring worn in it and he said "Yes, but only about half as bad (as mine)". So I guess even the stock spring can do this. I'll probably just k...

HD CBV chewed a ring in my turbo
http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l59/lytlesnake/turbo_and_cbv.jpg stupid aluminum! http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l59/lytlesnake/turbo_ring.jpg This ring wasn't there when I took the original Mitsubishi spring out two years ago. I don't think it's a problem, but I could be wrong. This was with ...

Re: Exhast Manifold Advice
You might check Erie Vo-Vo. They sell used R manifolds for $200 on ebay. If that doesn't fit your car, they probably have something that does. Tell them you don't want it painted, or it will be.

Re: '96 850 GLT Surging
Good deal. At least you got rid of that surging, and she's idling much better. Maybe you've got a sticky throttle cable, or something else in the throttle assembly is causing that.
