So happy to report her S70 is back in service. Runs reeeealy nice actually. Started right up in 10F cold at the first try. This was my first volvo head-job and was actually a pretty fun project. Saved it from ending up in the junkyard!

I pulled a head recently and that hole did not have a bolt in it. Was the head new?

Nope, head was original. I just had it redone at a local machine shop. I think I was the one who removed the bolt and misplaced it :roll:

BTW, Love your youtube videos...I watched your head gasket series and ...

Thanks for the responses. In case this happens to anyone else....The bolt/plug size is M12 1.5
My local Napa had a BMW drain plug that appears to fit perfectly. Cost was $1.89.

Doing a cylinder head on my mom inlaws 98 S70 NA (burnt valve). Im putting in the coolant tonight and I found this big leak on the side of the cylinder head. Looks like a bolt or some sort of sensor is missing...anybody know what is supposed to be there? If its a bolt, anyone know the size?

Well...I sent the DIM in for repair to xemodex. I'll let you know if that fixed it.

So my V70 started doing this weird thing where the hi beams will come on very randomly. Sometimes when I use the blinkers, it will come on then shut off after a few seconds. Sometimes it will come on when I hit a bump. Now its gotten so bad that it will come on and stay on when its parked!! Arming ...

I have an 03 v70 non turbo and Im consistently getting 26-28 MPGs. Car has been excellent. The only issue is the DIM needs repair (blinkers on dash dont work) and I replaced the control arms.

Got em out..I had to push them out from behind with pliers. And the Thule locks fit the volvo rack perfectly.

Just bought a set of those Volvo brand load bars for my 03 V70 from Tasca. They are very nice and easy to fit. Anyways I understand that these bars are made by Thule and I have a set of 4 thule locks I want to fit. Anyone know how to remove the lock blank plugs? I tried squeezing the 2 ...
