Re: Missing / Misfire - not the "Usual" ETM ?? Issue - No co
Had similar problem with my s80...Check the coil packs on each spark plug for cracks...even tiny cracks will screw you up. If you need to replace them DO IT YOURSELF> I was stranded and had to have a VOLVO dealer do it and they charged me 1300 bucks to replace 6 coil packs. (I can get them for about...

Power Window Problem
Trying to figure this one out for my Son 1600 miles away. His s80 (1999) passenger side front power window did this. He tried to open it, said there was a popping sound and it fell into the door. He was able to pull it up, recenter it, (It seems to have gotten off track) he was able to straighten it...

Re: Turbo Trouble?
no smoke, so I doubt it's a head gasket problem because it runs balls on strong otherwise. And strong up until it tops out on the turbo boost gauge

Got out on the Interstate and whomped on it. Turbo guage pegged out and car started to stumble. Once turbo guage came do...

Re: '99 v70xc starting problem
Oh...to answer your question tph, the fuel filter on my '99 is under the rear passenger's side right up against the fuel tank. You don't even really need to lift the car to get to it.

Re: '99 v70xc starting problem
It's funny how Volvos have a sense of TIME. Don't think time of day really has anything to do with the problem. Actually, I have three volvos. a 94 850t wagon, a 98 s0 sedan and the v70xc. The v 70 is a totally different animal. No distributor, AWD, and a fuel pump that is not where it should be, LO...

Re: '99 v70xc starting problem
It's more of a sputter and die. I was thinking fuel pump too. I went to change it out today with one I had from my 850 parts car, but I think it's an external fuel pump as there is no pump access from the inside that I could find. Under the fuel pump access panel there is nothing! Have not investiga...

'99 v70xc starting problem
Ok, so about a month ago, I was driving along, stopped for gas, car won't start. Sit 10 minutes and it started and got me home. Next day, I start it up, but it's running a bit off kilter. Drive it a mile down the road...it quits on me. It tries to start, reves and dies each time I go to start it. Ha...

Re: 850 MAF and TPS
To test the MAF, with the car running, tap the MAf housing sharply (don't need to WHACK it) with a screwdriver handle. If the engine stumbles, you have a MAF problem. The other I can't help you with. Good luck
