Power Window Problem

Trying to figure this one out for my Son 1600 miles away. His s80 (1999) passenger side front power window did this. He tried to open it, said there was a popping sound and it fell into the door. He was able to pull it up, recenter it, (It seems to have gotten off track) he was able to straighten it up and use the power window switch to raise the window. Once up and he let go of the switch it fell back down. I am thinking that he may have stripped some teeth off the regulator (don't know if it's the same type as my 850t) or if it's a window module (?) ... I have heard that there are module problems with this car....??? Any insight would be welcome. Have a Volvo Day! And thanks!

Yup, I just had to replace my front passenger window regulator. Ordered it used from Erie Volvo. That is a great place for all parts. Paid 130 for a used one and a Guy charged me 150 to put it on
