Re: how long it would take to replace dis cap, s plugs, cabl

Worst part would be the T-25 (20??) torx screws holding the boost valve in the turbo cars.

Re: Best/cheapest place for a new radiator? 96 855R

I bought a radiator from RockAuto and it is identical to the radiator I removed except the oil and trans couplers were separate brass fittings that I had to screw on myself. Here is the info on it: PRO 8012099 Radiator $ 118.79 PRO is the brand, I guess they're some kind of OE cloning company. My up...

A lot of folks don't use the cam tool... I don't know if the cost of the tool and the wait for shipping offsets the aggravation of having to line the cams up by hand. I can say in my case the exhaust cam kept rotating backwards from the valve springs pushing on the lobes. It was a real SOB to get th...

Best bet in my opinion is to remove the airbox... it's almost no work and gives plenty of access for a first-time job.

The factory pump is practically glued in to the block. It's possible that this has already been replaced and was glued in with something even tougher to break. I can only echo the above advice... swat the pulley with a piece of wood and a mallet. You will need to clean off the gasket adhesive left o...

Re: DIY: 1998 V70 Thermostat tips/tricks

The BMW M30B35 straight six has the purge bolt inches away from the fan blades. Good times there.

This system seems to purge itself. The t/stat I bought didn't have a jiggle valve or hole in it so I drilled a 1/16" hole in the edge and put it in.

Re: Cam seal and sensor. replacement. *lots of pics*

Can I/should I clean up the insides of the cam sensor and distributor cap if they have oil residue on them? I replaced the cap and rotor about 7 months ago so they're practically new. Brake cleaner will be sufficient?

Re: 96 850 T5 wagon immobilizer question

Huh... wonder what's broken in the hatch to keep it from working.

The only other variable I can come up with is that if I unlock the hatch with the key and the immo is on, it disables the alarm. So somehow that zone is partially working.

Re: Cam seal and sensor. replacement. *lots of pics*

so the same part is behind the cam gears as is behind the cam sensor and rotor? I've called around and nobody has the "rear" seal but they have the "front" one available. I'm going to try the Napa part, haven't called them yet. I have dried oil smeared around both cams so I'm ass...
