How do I set timing 2000 s80

2000 s80 2.9L. Timing belt jumped time and I had to replace all intake valves. I'm having trouble setting the time on the crank. If I line up the timing marks the piston closets to the timing belt is about 1 and 1/2" below the top of the cylinder. I understand from research that it is not suppo...

I followed those instructions. It places the 1 piston about half way down in the cylinder, and piston 3 and 4 are about 5/16 down. does that sound right?

If I understand this process correctly the piston won't be locked in place. Correct?

So I 'm feeling for a strike from the crankshaft, rather than piston itself?

The only cylinder that has a hole for the stop is behind the starer on the last one. I'm very confused the instruction are conflicting. I guess that I need to do it without the stop?

I have rebuilt my head. It is engine # B6294S, 2000 S80 non turbo with 6mm valves. I am trying to set timing. I removed the starter and placed the cylinder stop in the hole. When I do that the timeing marks almost line up, which my understanding is correct because it is not supposed to be completely...
