Your XC90 looks great! From what I've read, the consensus is that the transmission fluid should be changed every 50,000 miles, or so. If I were you, I would change the fluid now. When I bought my 2006 2.5T XC90 3 years ago, it had 42,000 miles, and I had the tranny flushed. Haven't regretted it--it'...

I guess you're off to a shaky start. My 2006 2.5T AWD XC90 has been very reliable, and almost trouble free. Hope you get those problems resolved with smooth sailing afterwards.

So far the tranny paired with the 3.2 has been good. It's only the GM transmission paired with the older T6 engine that's been bad.

I think Volvo says 105,000 miles on the XC90 timing belt. Mine has 82,000 miles, but I'm going to do mine later this year just to be on the safe side. Between the 3 Volvos I own, I have about one significant repair a year. And my 2006 AWD XC90 has the best reliability of the three.

The T6 was only mated with the GM 4-speed transmission, MYs 2003-2005. Avoid this XC90. Good engine, but this 4 speed transmission just couldn't cut the mustard. The first XC90 6-speed transmission was with the V8, starting in MY2005, followed by the 3.2 (NA) MY2007.
