Re: Looking to move from P2 to P3

Hello, I'd like to add to this thread. I have had an 03 V70 for 7 years and its been very reliable and a great car. It was my 5th Volvo and has 125k miles so I expected it to go for a few more years like the ones before. With much appreciated help from this forum I've done the PCV clean which was a ...

Re: 2002 s60 2.4T ac bearing size - confirmation required

Great, thanks, i will do as you say.

I just looked at the end of the pulley and can only see a small bolt in the centre. Any advice on how the pulley/ clutch is held on would be much appreciated.

Re: 2002 s60 2.4T ac bearing size - confirmation required

Hello, I have a similar problem. My 2003 V70 has developed a whine over about 6 months. Its definitely one of the items driven by the auxiliary belt since if I slacken it the whine stops the the engine is back to its former refined self. I thought it was the tensioner, which had a little play, and h...

Re: "SRS AIRBAG SERVICE URGENT"

Wise words on the vida/dice setup. Fortunately my neighbour has one for his XC90 and I've just been playing with that. Managed to clear the SRS message, also the service needed message. Also saw loads of other error messages that explain why the drivers door mirror has a mind of its own. Good stuff!...

Re: "SRS AIRBAG SERVICE URGENT"

Many thanks, I equate those words "visit a dealership" with open your wallet and close your eyes ;>) so would rather avoid if possible.

I'm scouring my mates to see if they have the necessary.

Any idea if the message stops the airbag(s?) working?

Re: "SRS AIRBAG SERVICE URGENT"

Hello, I have a 2003 2.4 petrol. I had to remove the passenger front seat to transport an awkward load. I replaced everything but have the SRS message in the title. How do I clear this? Do i need to invest in a fault reader? if so which is the best one? I have the Carcode software and adaptor for ob...

Re: 2003 V70 petrol high Idle speed when starts

Many thanks for the rapid and very helpful replies, this forum is a real goldmine. I will stop worrying since there are no other symptom or drivability issues. It does offend my engineering sensibilities a bit however since I'm sure I've read that a high proportion of the wear in an engine is in the...

2003 V70 petrol high Idle speed when starts

About 2 months ago I bought a 2003 V70 which I am very pleased with. Got 66k miles and in very good nick. I upgraded after having a 940 and '97 V70 for years. The only fault, annoying rather than serious, is the initial idle speed when the engine starts. This is about 1900 rpm. It gradually goes dow...

Re: Volvo 1993 940 faltering and stopping and idle speed

So, the saga continues, it did its again, faltering when cold, not badly but not right. Codes of 113. After resetting it was back to perfect. So I either have a maddening intermittent fault fixed by opening the bonnet and poking about or this cumulative effect on the fuel trim. This time my paranoia...
