Should this be done with relay 103 in the car or with that relay's terminals 15 and 78 jumped? Would one better? hear the fuel pump from the trunk or back seat?

Car would not start this morning; I jumped pins 15 and 87 on relay 103 (there is no #78) and the engine would not start (there is spark from the coil). Engine ran perfectly yesterday evening.

Where, exactly, on my 850 (NA) is the fuel pump relay (103?); is it under the plastic cover (with two vertical tabs that seem impossible to move) in front of the fuse box?

No misfiring; better performance on 91.

If the filter was partially clogged and stressing the pump, it seems the car would not accelerate well.

If such were the case, would not the car accelerate poorly?

1994 850 (US) Automatic; 148,000, sometimes stalls at idle, but usually restarts immediately, though, occasionally, one must wait several minutes. Otherwise, the car runs beautifully (however, my wife claims that the car has stalled while moving).
