Re: Catalytic Converter ?
Just went through a similar problem with my brother's 2002 s40, the car would hesitate badly at low rpm then would be fine at speed. Started by replacing the plugs and wires, but no change. Once I replaced both coils, the problem was fixed, and on close examination you could see small cracks on the ...

Re: Coolant temperature sensor replacement
Didn't come with one, I'll have to go back to the dealer, need to get replacement screws for the thermostats housing anyway. Thanks

Coolant temperature sensor replacement
Hello,
I'm replacing the coolant temp sensor and thermostat in my 99 v70xc, and I'm wondering if there is a gasket or anything that has to go on the temperature sensor when it is screwed back into the thermostat housing to keep it from leaking, or is one not needed? Thanks

Re: Test for failed coolant level sensor?
I had the same thing happen when I replaced my tank. Replaced it with a new sensor, and the light went off. The only downside is the replacement was an aftermarket brand and it doesn't trigger the light until the coolant is at a much lower level than the original sensor worked at. I'm planning on pu...

Re: Intermittent ets light
It is the original throttle body, I knew when I bought the car that I'd be replacing it, figured if it made it until the end of the year I'd be doing good. It may be worth replacing it now just to avoid having it fail at an inopportune time. Just wanted to see if anything else could be triggering th...

Intermittent ets light
For the last week, I've been getting my ETS light has been coming on intermittently on my 99 v70xc. It usual takes about an hour of driving before it lights, which seems to happen only when my foot is off the throttle, although today it came on after a few minutes. The light does go off after the ca...

Re: Injector part question
Thank you for that info, at least now I know I won't set the car on fire from a leaking injector.

Injector part question
Hello, over the weekend I changed the pcv system, I removed the fuel while taking things apart, in doing so it looks like the little bits at the end of the injector broke off a few. These bits are at each end of the injector, and the o-ring sits behind it. The dealer has nothing like that, so I'm wo...

Re: My car defeated me
I tried vice grips on the back, even cut part of the boot away, still couldn't get it to budge. Whacking the wrench with a small sledge hammer did nothing either. I don't have a torch, and thought breaking the nut would definitely work , but no luck. No time to work on it during the week, and it nee...

My car defeated me
I've given up, my car won. I was changing the struts on my car, and the passenger's side went fine yestereday, all the bolts came off with no trouble, went back together, no problems. Started on the driver's side, and the bolt for the sway bar link... ahhh. Sprayed PB blaster like crazy and let it s...
