Re: 2004 S80 2.5T AWD Throttle Body Failure
Hi, I am having the exact same problem. I have the Bosch ETM on my 04 S80 but I took it off and cleaned it along with the connector- It didn't help. Did taking the ECM out and cleaning it help? If so I'll buy the tool and remove both modules and spray electrical contact cleaner to see if it helps me...

ETM connector: how to release?
Hi, I feel dumb for even asking this question but...I was trying to take off the ETM throttle body because I wanted to clean it thoroughly. Ive been getting the "reduced engine performance" light on at random times. Its a 2004 S80 2.9 and I hear that taking these off and cleaning the plate...

04 S80 2.9L ETA/ECM issue "limp mode"
Hi, I have had the "reduced engine performance" light come on twice. Once I was just going down the highway and I felt a little studder, then it drove ok but b/c it was in "limp mode" I simply was forced to drive slower. Second time the warning light came on I was at a stop light...

Re: Car died while driving on the highway- NOT timing belt
Well decided to take it into the dealer. Dealer diagnosis- "fuel tank level float stuck on a wire giving false reading" So my gauge was saying half full but was on empty... Not sure if this occurred because of the fuel pump recall service a few months back or not. They didn't charge me for...

Re: Help! Car died while driving on the highway- NOT timing
Well the mechanic said he tightened something up behind/close to the fuse block and replaced some blown fuses. Now all the electrical stuff is working fine but the car stalled on my again today. Although the gas gauge reads over half tank I decided to take a couple gallons of fuel over to it. I cran...

Re: Help! Car died while driving on the highway- NOT timing
Update: So today I thought I'd drive it around and see if I could get the computer code read. Auto part stores said if the check engine didn't come on then there will be no codes to read. I still don't have an explanation of why it died so decided to go home and find a volvo shop near my house. On t...

Re: Help! Car died while driving on the highway- NOT timing
Update: Well, I was going to do a fuel pressure check but decided to go over there on my scooter with a handful of tools first to see about doing simple things like disconnect/reconnect the battery. The first thing I did was to crank it over. It turned over normal speed and after a few seconds it wa...

Car died while driving on the highway- NOT timing belt
Man, I LOVE this car but so disappointed (and a little embarrassed) that it left me stranded on the side of the highway. 2004 2.9 with 90k. I was just cruising down the highway and it just started hesitating and then completely lost power- I put it in neutral and coasted off the highway and now it s...

Options when changing out timing belt
I have been contacting a few volvo specialists for pricing in town as my 04 S80 2.9 has 91k on it. I hear its best to at least check the belt for signs of early aging now (remove cover and look for cracks?) and then have it, along with the tension and idler pulley replaced at 105k. The thing is, som...
