Re: 1988 740 GLE no power to fuel pump
It's frustrating when I spend time searching the internet and FINALLY find a thread describing the exact symptoms my car has and nobody bothers to let anyone know what the solution was. Thanks a freakin lot.

Re: 94 940 with a B230FT, PCV issue?
Ok, it still smokes. I got stuck at a train crossing, and I looked in my mirror and saw a huge cloud behind me. I think you're right about it being turbo related, if I hold the brake and gas it till my gauge registers it'll blow all the smoke out and stop for a minute, but if I just rev it while in ...

Re: 94 940 with a B230FT, PCV issue?
The filler cap is new, I even change out the seal because it was still doing it even after I replaced it. I have to bend the tabs after every time I take it off, or things get messy. So, no that situation hasn't improved at all. I did happen to notice that the coolant level was slightly low, and I a...

Re: 94 940 with a B230FT, PCV issue?
Thanks Bill, I'll get on that this weekend. Sorry about the mix up with the part terminology, IPD has both that elbow and the attaching hose that connects it to the oil separator listed as "flame trap hose and flametrap"

Re: 94 940 with a B230FT, PCV issue?
Isn't the flame trap the little plastic elbow that attaches to the top of the oil separator to which you connect the breather tube and the vacuum line?

94 940 with a B230FT, PCV issue?
Hey guys, I have a 94 940 with a B230FT that "burps" oil out of the filler cap. It usually does this in heavy stop and go traffic, or when driving through parking lots. It also smokes like crazy if it sits at an idle for an extended period of time. I have replaced the vent box and the flam...

Re: Trouble Installing Water Pump - 5/8" metal line won't se
I had trouble with mine too. I went to Ace hardware and bought a couple of o-rings and used them in combination with the seal that came with the water pump. Sealed it right up, no problems.

Re: boost leak? or wastegate issues
the pressure tester worked. I found that the leak was in the lower hose that comes off of the IAC and loops up through the intake manifold. I sprayed the hell outta that with both carb cleaner and soapy water, don't know why it didn't show up.

Re: boost leak? or wastegate issues
my plan is to disconnect at the turbo outlet and clamp onto the contraption I've already built out of 1 1/2" pvc which consists of a 1' length of pipe, a pressure gauge, vavle stem and a friggin hose spiggot to bleed off any excess pressure. I'm hoping that at the very least I'll be able to get...
