Re: S80 T6 - Complete coolant loss
Just a quick update. I was too late in asking them not to replace the heater, but just bypass it. So I had to fork out. I got the vehicle back yesterday. The auto-dimming mirror was porked, having the lava-lamp look. The mechanic says 'it was like that'. Also one of the instrument cluster lights isn...

Re: S80 T6 jerking forward during acceleration
Sounds a bit like what was happening to me. You can try manually changing the gears. If it still does it even when you NOT changing into another gear, then I would suspect the turbo control valve. In my car it would go like a rocket, build up revs, then unexpectedly dump revs and acceleration before...

Re: S80 T6 - Complete coolant loss
Actually I considered that. It does get cold sometimes...but not $900 worth of cold, hehe.
I'll give the shop a call and see if they've started the job yet and try work something out. Thanks for the tip.

Re: S80 T6 - Complete coolant loss
I just got a call from the shop. It turns out it was the heater radiator.
They're going to have to remove the complete dashboard to fit a new one.
Also my turbo control value was on its way out.
This car has cost me a fortune on repairs.....

S80 T6 - Complete coolant loss
Just thought I'd share this incident and maybe someone has an idea what happened. A week or 2 ago I got a 'low coolant' warning. So I topped up the expansion bottle and carried on driving. This morning I got the same warning and noticed steam coming from under by bonnet. Once stopped I opened the ho...

Re: What else can go wrong?
Ok thanks for the information
Reading the information I don't think I have any of those problems....yet.
I topped up with fuel yesteday....the petrol pump attendant looked shocked, "I just filled your car with a couple of million" he commented

Re: What else can go wrong?
It had about 135000km on it when I got it. Full service history with dealers so I thought it would be ok. Unless he sold it because he knew it needed work. I'm not sure what the story was with the coils. One day the car smelt badly of rotten eggs and all the power was gone. Reading these forums I'm ...

What else can go wrong?
Hey guys, Thanks for the great source of information on these forums! 8) Last year I purchased a S80 T6, but didn't realise what I was getting myself into  This is a small list of whats happened to the vehicle so far. - On purchasing the car it had a nasty knock in the front suspension. The de...
