Has anyone put the slightly more modern / better looking (IMO) instrument panel from a 70 series car into an 850?

They look bloody close to the same size and shape in the pictures I have been able to fine, and I know some creative wiring will be required (boost gauge, etc).

I'm looking to get a spare ECU for my 1996 850 T5 Auto to modify (so I have the original to revert back to if I stuff everything up)

The code on the ECU is " A.2 "

Can I use any ?.2 ECU (as I assume A = Australia)? - or does A = Automatic?

Or, what are the criteria I need to match the ECU ...

I agree with cutting out the old lamps - but if you can use a soldering iron, consider using LED's. You can then change colours as well if you want, but remember they operate on a different voltage. You will need to rewire mant in series, or add a resistor to each if yoy just want to stick with the ...
