Please help I.D. steering part...2000 S40
There is a thump coming from left front whenever I run over any small road object. I took a picture of this assembly, which looked irregular. Please advise. Please see the pictures.

Re: S40 1.9T (Crank Not Turning Fully when belt off)
I did pull the cover off. I borrowed the cam locking tool from my local dealer, set the marks and put it back together. It's working well.
Thanks.
Thanks.

S40 1.9T (Crank Not Turning Fully when belt off)
I have a 2001 1.9 T S40 VVT
I've replace the headgasket and am now rebuilding. I was attempting to turn the crank to find the mark (I didn't mark it before teardown.) The crank only goes so far in either direction before coming to a stop. I haven't put the belt on yet.
Thanks.

Re: cam timing/alignment off ('98 S70 GLT)
Thanks!!
I did crank it today with the starter. It ran well. I now have to fix oil leaks from the radiator hoses and turbo.
Thanks again.

JD, thanks for all of you input. I did turn it by hand. I am off on a road trip today and will tackle it again on Sun morning. Thanks again.

cam timing/alignment off ('98 S70 GLT)
I did place marks on the crank and on the cam sprockets. The problem now is that the groove on the intake is not properly parallel with the seam after two(2) rotations of the crankshaft. intake.jpg If you can't make out the picture, it appears to be off by more than 10 degrees. How can I adjust it t...

I'm working on replacing the head gasket (1st time). I did not keep the cam lifters in order. Please advise. Thanks.
