Re: Leak between Throttle Body and Air Intake Hose: Best Fix? 2001 S80 2.9 Non-Turbo
The new fresh air intake pipe arrived. It did not fix the air leak. I cannot feel any cracks or imperfections in the throttle body opening, and I would quite like to try other things before replacing what appears to be a perfectly fine throttle body. Does anyone have any ideas for sealing this conne...

Re: Leak between Throttle Body and Air Intake Hose: Best Fix? 2001 S80 2.9 Non-Turbo
Thank you. I have ordered a new hose, with the idea that any used hose will eventually have the same issue. It is, of course, one of those parts that must be special ordered, and I do not have access to "Overnight parts from Sweden" :( I will report back once the new hose eventually arrives.

Leak between Throttle Body and Air Intake Hose: Best Fix? 2001 S80 2.9 Non-Turbo
My 2001 S80 2.9L (without a turbo) was not running well, so I decided to smoke-test the intake. I removed the Engine Air Intake Hose ( Part Number: 9161391 ) from the mass airflow sensor at the point 1 in the attached image, in the black box, then put the smoke machine output in that same hose. Smok...

Re: Engine turns off at random, no fault codes.
I had a random shutdown issue on my 2001 S80, which I traced to an intermittent connection in the circuit that turns on the ECM relay ( thread link ). The base bracket (part 9456590) holding the ECM was loose, causing the circuit to intermittently break, which turned off the relay, which killed the ...

[SOLVED] Re: [2001 S80 2.9] VIDA name for signal that turns on ECM relay?
I forgot to update this...my apologies. I think the fault was a worn plastic bracket that holds the ECM & TCM in the plastic module box and connected to the wire harness. Replacing that solved all my issues. Before I replaced the bracket, the only way to reliably make the car run was to use a ma...

P2 S80: Any Fix/Hack/Bodge/Etc. for broken defrost vent below windshield?
First, I know the real fix is replacing the dashboard. I don't have the motivation to replace an otherwise-fine dashboard on a 24 year old car. As I am sure has happened to many before me, the plastic inside the defrost vents below the windshield in my 2001 S80 have embrittled in the sun and broken....

Re: [2001 S80 2.9] VIDA name for signal that turns on ECM relay?
I learned a few things over the weekend I suspect the CEM-ECM communication datapoint is the CEM communication menu is the closest thing to an indicator that the ECM is sending signals to relays While I didn't find a way to activate the engine management relay in the Activations menu, I can turn on ...

Re: [2001 S80 2.9] Seeking advice on intermittent loss of signal/voltage to ETM
After some more digging, the issue seems to be the car is only intermittently turning on the Engine Control Module main relay (what I had been calling the ETM relay), which sends power to the ETM and the coils. When that relay does switch on, everything works great. I pushed this question back to th...

How to us VIDA to see signal that turns on ECM Relay?
After some more digging, the ETM seems to be perfectly fine. My current diagnosis centers on the Engine Control Module Main Relay (what I had previously called the ETM relay). The relay sends power to the ETM and coils, so it needs to click on before the engine to start. The car starts if I bypass t...

I now know there is an ETM forum, so I have posted this issue there.
