My XC90 Steering was stiff. Figured out it was the steering coupler (like u-joint) . I had dealer to do the job: part and labor was about $700. Money well spent for a job i could not do. .

Abscate, the entire contest is now "under protest" hahaha and will be brought before the judge panel for review of the video. Depending on the 4 tire upsell seems like my $5,999 prediction would be pretty close.

Keep in mind that volvos may have sensitive electronics. It may trigger a low battery or bulb out or other annoyance. Some models are quirky with their electronics. You won't know till you try it. I put a dash cam type camera in s60 and triggered low battery light.

Whatever it needs will be cheaper then any new car you can buy, if you decide to keep it. In my mind, even if you have to drop in $5K you have a 30K low mileage nice car that is fun for FL driving and has a long life potential.
