Re: Front end noise when turning
I wanted to bring this topic back because when I searched the site for this problem on my XC90 this is what came up. I was having a similar issue and here's how I fixed mine. Spoiler alert... sway bar end links. I have a Volvo XC90 2.5T AWD. This is a heavy SUV and handling has always been a little ...

Re: Noise from steering column while turning wheel
I second Alf's comment. I recently had this same experience with my 2005 XC90 2.5T AWD. It had a moaning noise and a slight shudder when turning at slow speeds. I pulled the carpet, top boot, removed the spring clip and bottom boot. Once removed I popped out the column bearing from the top boot (rem...

Re: Radio back lights 2004 xc90 awd
I had to get the unit back to the seller for an exact number replacement. The dealer gave me three number options that match my VIN. The original replacement I received did not match any of those. Once I had a matching number unit it was plug and play. Software flashing did not help the non working ...

Re: Anyone tried this cheap Aux input for XC90?
In my experience the XC90 system does not have the 8 Pin DIN shown in the ebay product. I tore my system apart and integrated a Denison product that is very nice. It was not inexpensive though. The plus side is that it offers iPod/iPhone, RCA aux and USB inputs. It installed easily and takes over th...

Re: Glazed Headlights
I did this on my 05 XC 90 without HID. My lenses were yellowing a bit at the top and very bottom. I used a 3M product I got at Autozone for $10. The kit came all of the sanding pads and compunds. It had enough to do both lights. I did end up following up with the use of a Mequires scratch x product ...

Re: Wanting to buy an XC90?
d-roc, I have an 05 2.5t with 97k. Bought it a year ago with 82k. It was a single owner and well maintained. Here are the items I've tackled; - Radio ICM went out. $1,000+ from dealer but can be purchased remanufactered for about $300 and install yourself in less than 30 minutes. - Spark Plugs - Eas...

Re: xc90 engine problems
To the OP, If you are experiencing the drive ability issues; Reduction in fuel economy (noticeable reduction)? Rich fuel smell (the smell of gas from the exhaust)? Any shudder upon acceleration (like the power cuts out)? If you're at idle does the car seem like it wants to die out? If at idle in Par...

Re: Rough Idle - need advice
Definitely get the codes read if your check engine light is on. It sounds like you've done quite a bit of work already. Two things that come to mind for me after reading your post; Spark Plug packs. These are the electrical packs that are on top of the plugs. If you didn't change them at the time of...

Martin,
Check the throttle body. It may cure your problems and is not a "break the bank" repair cost to have it cleaned. Air leaks in the system will also cause poor running performance and engine lights, but it sounds like your on your way to looking for those already.

Re: xc90 engine problems
I agree about reading the codes. It is the quickest, and most reliable path to corrective action. Off the cuff though it sounds like a problem that has been discussed many times in the last 30 days on this board. It also seems that your vehicle is of similar age and mileage as the others having simi...
