I had the same sound thought it was the cv joints come to find it was the struts were out and also when replacing them i saw the ball joints had taken the last the could before it was going to be a on the freeway with only 3 wheels. have it checked soon, if it is ball joints very bad stuff can happe...

well took the head off after trying everything and come to find out it jumped timing and valves went boom boom bent..
