Re: PCV Valve vacuum leak?

Thanks for all the input, I'm gonna mess with again this weekend and hopefully I'll be able to figure it out and it doesn't rain.

Re: PCV Valve vacuum leak?

Whoops - I should have paid attention to that. Just run it around and attach it there, then, to the flame trap snorkel near the throttle body if you can't find the end of the hose under the intake manifold on the left side. I can find the hose but the inner hose where I would connect the other end ...

Re: PCV Valve vacuum leak?

It's attached to the end of the existing hose coming from the PTC valve at the back by the turbo. If that hose is no longer there, then get some vacuum hose and run it from that intake port straight over the top of the engine, back to the turbo area. My bad, I didn't realize this thread concerned a...

Re: PCV Valve vacuum leak?

It can be a real pain in the ass to reach. I had to remove the upper radiator hose - which just made everything slippery - in order to even get my hands in there. The next time it fell off, I bribed my girlfriend with cheesecake if she'd help me reconnect it with her tiny hands. :) I added on a sma...

Re: PCV Valve vacuum leak?

P0172 is ALWAYS this hose - just behind the power steering pump. Here's how I fixed it when the stupid little elbow broke off on mine. That space is tight and designed for people with hands the size of a 4 year old. http://i105.photobucket.com/albums/m214/bblackbr/IMG_5263.jpg I've been messing aro...

Re: 1998 S70 coolant leakage

Well I didn't have to pull the timing belt cover cause i found the source of the leak. It turns out it's the coolant hose and it seems it's right where the clamp is at. I'll readjust and make sure the clamp is on more securely.

I'll give that a shot and chime back in as to what I found.

Thanks,

1998 S70 coolant leakage

I was trying to replace the vacuum elbow in my 98 S70 and it was quite the PIA trying to get it in there. I refilled the coolant tank afterwards caused some had spilled after I removed one of the hoses to get a better angle in to replace elbow. I noticed the next day that my coolant light came on an...

Re: P0172 code broken elbow

Thanks for the replies, it's not raining today so I'm gonna get going on this. One other question once it in and that is in the fact why I'm getting the CEL, will it go off automatically or will there be something I need to do to reset it if that's the right term?

Re: P0172 code broken elbow

Second one, part #9155862. You don't need to remove the coolant hose if you have the dexterity of an elf. Otherwise, it helps. I used a clamp on both ends because it repeatedly blew off one side or the other. po172_elbow.jpg po172_elbow2.jpg New to this forum, but not new to forums in genera...
