Re: Need opinions 98 V70 wagon with valve issues. Fix or wal
Thanks. He did replace the water pump when he did the timing belt. Not sure why he didn't do the pulleys. He's waiting on the cost of a head but gave me a ballpark labor quote of $800.00. He's a very good guy, so I may use the why didn't you replace the pulleys to have him sharpen his pencil on the ...

Need opinions 98 V70 wagon with valve issues. Fix or walk aw
Last week our 98 V70 wagon just died while driving. Turns out the timing belt pulley broke, throwing the belt. My mechanic repaired the pulley & belt because he said he's seen some that didn't have valve damage. Ours unfortunately does. He's trying to source a rebuilt head for us. My question to...

Re: 98 V70 Wagon Auto N/A. Engine died suddenly, won't rest
Bad news, Timing belt went. My wife did hear a crack! Was replaced at 69,000. So it is about 50k old. Hoping valve train is ok. They are putting it together as I type. I'll update you when I know something.

98 V70 Wagon Auto N/A. Engine died suddenly, won't restart.
My wife and I were driving to a function for her company. We pulled off the highway and onto a long, slight uphill grade driveway. My wife says she heard a crack sound, I didn't. But the car suddenly lost power, the engine died, and it wouldn't restart. It turns over, but doesn't even try to start. ...

Re: Do it yourself ABS module repair.
Replaced my ABS Module on Saturday. Watched the video first on Midwest ABS site. Except for some scraped hands job went smoothly on our 98 V70 wagon. Haven't seen the ABS Tracs light come back on in 5 days. Our brake pedal seems firmer. Thank you Matt for your service. Having the correct socket was ...

Re: Do it yourself ABS module repair.
Kudos to Midwest-ABS, I order an ABS module at around 4:15 EST. He states that orders placed before 3pm EST will be shipped that day. I was very pleasantly shocked to get an email from Paypal stating my ABS module was shipped Today! We are leaving on a 9 day vacation and I hoped it might arrive Satu...

Re: ABS / TRACS question before I repair the module. 98 V7
We had an issue with the lockout function, meaning when we put the car in park we had trouble getting the key out. But that was over a year ago. Our service person did something but when he did we can now take the key out without putting the car in park. Could there be an issue with something in the...

ABS / TRACS question before I repair the module. 98 V70 Wa
I read 4 pages of the DYI ABS Module page. Excellent write up. Before I tackle that I wanted to run my symptoms by the board and see if they think it's the module or something else. 98 V70 wagon automatic. Car has about 109K miles on it. We had replaced the module once already about 4-5 years ago an...

Re: 98 V70 driver's door lock solonoid
Thanks for the replies. I'm going to see if it starts working after the heat wave passes. If not I'll replace it. Off all the actuators, why the drivers door?

Re: 98 V70 driver's door lock selonoid
do you mean a lot of work to replace, or to repair the actuator?rspi wrote:They can be repaired but it is a lot of work. You can get them from the stealer and I have seen them on eBay.
FCP Groton no longer carries them. I did find at IDP for about $150.
