Re: Need To Re-Install VIDA, But no CD-Drive! Topic is solved
The download of an image that included both the VIDA and the environment required to run under VMWARE was the solution here.

"Replacement" Brand V70 Thermostat Assy for $20?
I have a leak between the two halves of the thermostat assembly on a 2004 V70, and as the car is at 186K, I figured I'd replace the thermostat and the gasket both. But no one seems to sell the gasket that marries the top half to the bottom. Amazingly, for $20, both Parts Geek and carparts.com have t...

Need To Re-Install VIDA, But no CD-Drive! Topic is solved
Many moons ago, I bought a VIDA Dice from China for my V70. All has been well, until the old Lenovo S10-2 running XP that I used for VIDA died. It ran Vida-2012. My new laptop is a Windows 8.1 machine (yes, I am a Windows 10 Refusenik, but I do wear all required Biohazard Level 4 gear when venturing...

PSA - Volvo P2 v70 Long Cargo Interior Limits
As most Volvo wagon owners know, the fellow who owns a Volvo wagon is everyone's best friend when something bulky needs moving. But - how big a thing will fit? In a P2 V70, you can easily haul 8-foot long, 2 foot wide IKEA wall units by removing the rear passenger seat bottom, folding down the rear ...

Re: are there no aftermarket replacement fog lights for 2007 v70 2.5t?
I'm confused... the fog lights changed in 2005?
So 2004 and earlier are different?
Or can parts interchange between 2004 and 2005+ ?

2001-2007 "Wing" Load Bars - Is there an actual lock?
I picked up a pair of load bars to fit my rails on my 2004 v70. These are the "wing shaped" type, the ones that are said to be as quiet as possible. The "security torx screw" used is not at all obscure, I had a whole set of them in my driver bits kit, right next to the regular torx driver bits. But ...

Re: Power steering cap loose
There is enough pressure in the "low pressure" side of the power steering system to move the fluid out of the works, and back into the reservoir. The pump sucks fluid from the reservoir, so as long as it is not empty, you are in no danger of a mechanical failure. If I were in your shoes, I'd get a l...

Re: What did you do to your P2 Volvo today....now sticky!!
For those not wanting to drill holes, below is a very easy-to-install, and low-cost alternative - it wires into the backup light, so the wiring is just some easy splicing in back of the taillights. The beeper is loud enough to be heard if it is also behind trim by the taillights, at least in a wagon...

Re: V70 gremlins
The only time I saw anti-skid warnings on my 2004 v70, it preceded a wide range of faults and warning lights, and was solved by removing the metal RFI shield from the CEM circuit board, and (perhaps overkill) adding heat sinks to both of the chips that are said to overheat in the CEM. As the heat si...
