Re: Wanting to buy an XC90?
Thanks cbotd and outrigger777, I kinda figured the timing belt and water pump would be coming up. I'll make sure to inspect the belt. The gal who owns it apparently bought an extended warranty when she bought it used that is still in place. In order to keep the warranty she had to service it regular...

Re: 93 Volvo 850 dies while driving
I went with Bosch, but thanks for the advice on the Bogecord. It is funny how a little change made such a huge difference. I'll make sure to push it a little now. They really are a fun car.

Re: 93 Volvo 850 dies while driving
Well, if anyone is looks at this thread, my car is finally running pretty well. I replaced, in the following order, the crankshaft position sensor (RPM Switch), thermostat and coolant sensor, cap and rotor, and wires. The car was misfiring at lower speeds and that finally stopped after I replaced th...

Re: Wanting to buy an XC90?
Great and timely thread. I wrecked and totaled my '04 S60 two weeks ago. It was a great car. Had it since '06 and it will be missed. Now we are looking for an XC90. Thanks for all the previous posts confirming what I had heard and read about the 2.5T vs. the T6. We are specifically looking at the AW...

Re: Disconnected Wiring Harness
So I checked a 93 850 at the yard and it had the oil level sensor on the front of the oil pan. Mine does not have the oil level sensor, just a loose harness. Thanks Lee for pointing me in the right direction.

Re: Disconnected Wiring Harness
I can't find anything on the '95 schematics that would mate up so it may be one of those "93 things". The '93s had an oil level sensor that the later years didn't have and it would have likely been in that general area. From '94 and on they went to an oil pressure sensor and it has a sing...

Re: Disconnected Wiring Harness
So there are two wires running into the harness, red and black. I'm attaching a pic. I fished the harness up by the starter to get a better picture of it. I hope someone can tell me where this belongs.

Disconnected Wiring Harness
I have a 93 850. I was replacing the thermostat today and while draining the radiatior I noticed an unplugged wiring harness. It's located below the starter and branches off of a cluster of wiring. It looks like it would plug into a sensor but I don't see a sensor in the area. Could it go to the kno...
