1966 122 Timing Gear Noise... I think
While replacing the main seals on a B18 that was out of the car, I discovered that the timing gear on the camshaft had a good sized chip out of one of the teeth. I replaced it with another gear off of a parts engine I had in the shop. When I got the engine back into the car and started it, I noticed...

Re: 2001 V70XC Throttle flutter - Xemodex
I should clarify. This flutter/surge/stumble is only really noticeable by feel when at a constant speed. However, VIDA reveals an erratic throttle angle/position that does not match the accelerator position. This happens at idle, under load, and at constant speed. When I say, "noisy," I me...

2001 V70XC Throttle flutter - Xemodex
Having the classic symptoms of etm failure, I recently replaced the etm with a Xemodex unit. This seemed to make an enormous difference with the problem at and near idle. There still seemed to be a bit of flutter while cruising at a constant speed. I replaced the MAF. Despite my efforts, this flutte...

Re: 2006 XC70 - Vida Dice vs Super Volvo Dice Pro
I was unable to successfully install 2012. I tried two different installation discs and two different computers. I followed all of the tips and tricks I could find here and on other forums. I was able to install 2010 with no problems on the first try. Make sure you have the PRO version of windows. I...

2001 V70XC Intermittent Oil Burning
My V70 has 182,000 miles on it. I've been experiencing some oil burning smoke that only happens occasionally. The smoke occurs from the tailpipe when the car has been running at idle for five minutes or longer. This does not always happen, however. Usually it idles fine with no smoke. When it does s...

Re: Eek! Transmission Service (engine codes P0717 and P0700)
On my car, when the bad sensor was acting as the input sensor (the one toward the front of the car) the transmission went into limp mode. When the bad sensor was the output sensor (toward the rear of the car) there was no limp mode. I would suggest that it is the input sensor in your case. Since the...

Re: Eek! Transmission Service (engine codes P0717 and P0700)
The input sensor is located near the park-neutral switch. The output sensor is farther to the rear of the transmission. Both are easily replaceable. To verify that it is the sensor and not wiring, you could try swapping them. When my input sensor went bad, the transmission would go into limp mode (a...

Re: VIDA DICE, which one to buy?
On my working DiCE, the vehicle interface light only comes on when VIDA is accessing information from the car. It does not come on at all when only connected to the car. (except sometimes a slight flicker when the car is started) Sounds like your DiCE might be defective.

Re: VIDA DICE, which one to buy?
I agree with Emil, don't give up. This is an extremely useful tool. Have you connected the DiCE to your car's OBDII port? If so, what did the lights on the DiCE do? Sounds like a driver for the DiCE did not install properly. A subscription is not required for most of the functions of VIDA. You will ...
