Re: my transition to the dark side is complete
it turns out I did not buy the other S70. the guy selling it totally misrepresented it is ad, it was totally shot; finished and beat down in every possible way. but since I had sold my other car another daily driver that my wife uses the day before I had to immediately get something else. I bought a...

Re: my transition to the dark side is complete
I for one applaud for that. I don't know if I can speak for everyone but my S70 is great. not sure I mention this before but I bought it sight unseen with 77,000 miles on it for 3000 dollars on eBay. I had to fly from Virginia to Miami to pick it up, and had a 950 mile test drive home. a CV axle tie...

Re: my transition to the dark side is complete
Mercedes has the bad habit of every now and then introducing a so called affordable car to the market. you could get a mid ninety's M and totally restore it for the same money and have a remarkable machine rather than a list of compromises. if you have to go new try a Scion fr-s, that thing is sick.

Re: my transition to the dark side is complete
I agree, I like Mercedes, my grandfather refused to drive anything but a Mercedes, but with a rare exception the BMW is a sexier faster longer lasting car and I don't need to tell you guys what is special about a Volvo. the only thing that would make me by Mercedes at this point in time is if I got ...

Re: my transition to the dark side is complete
after recently picking up and 95 325i convertible, I have really come to appreciate the Volvo even more. sure it may not be as pretty as a BMW convertible but it is a good looking cute car and it is reliable and it runs like a top. who takes the time to chime in on a thread that they proclaim as bor...

Re: gear selector switch getting stuck, will not release.
thanks for all your help and advice on this topic. I'm sorry it took me so long to read the last couple of post but I found the best way to stop worrying so how much about every little thing wrong with my Volvo...about an even older BMW.

Re: my transition to the dark side is complete
I'm buying another at s70 in the morning. it's black 5 speed manual sunroof, 161,000 miles. 1400 dollars. the guy says it's good to go and needs nothing daily driver excetera. I think I'll change the timing belt just in case. I hope my red one doesn't get jealous. it's going to be so weird having 2 ...

Re: timing belt tracking and cam gears
I am just 1 of those people who really worries about timing belts. I mean come on it's a 40 dollar piece of rubber responsible for a 2000 dollar valve job.
