Power Steering Hoses replacement
My dad's 2005 XC70 has a Power Steering leaking pretty bad when driven. It was a chore to find the source of the leak. All connections of rubber lines to hard lines are dry on both Pressure and Return hoses. After further investigation I believe I identified that a Return line probably has a microsc...

Re: Remote Control strange behavior
Thanks for reply.
If chip (I assume you are referring to IC - Integrated Circuit) is broken, why does it work at all? It works, except I have to push a button 3 times for it to take an effect. I could be wrong, but I think something else is going on here.

Remote Control strange behavior
My Original Remote Control for XC70, 2005 worked fine until battery died completely. I have replaced it with a new one and now I have to push 'Lock' and 'Unlock' buttons 3 times to have it do what I need to do. Is there anything I can do to have this fixed or 'Stealer' reprogramming is required? Tha...

Re: OBD2 Code Reading Issue
Thank you for suggestions. The reader I have supports CAN bus as well as others but still doesn't work on my Volvo. In California the auto stores are no longer allowing to have OBD2 reading to be performed, that is what I heard. However, I will go and ask to see if they will or not. Thanks again guys.

OBD2 Code Reading Issue
My dad's XC70, 2005 has Check Engine Light On. I have tried reading the code using 2 different, generic OBD2 scanners that work on all other, new cars that I have but on Volvo I get "Communication Error". The scanners are pretty good, one is on the expensive side and the other is a cheap o...

Re: 2005 XC70 Coolant Leak
Report on my attempt to repair the leak. I took Intake Manifold out and found no obvious areas for the leak. Cleaned everywhere and tighten the thermostat screws, especially the lower one that is hidden. Assembled all back and the car has been driven for an hour or so. It started to leak again. Upon...

Thank you Abscate. I will definitely be looking around that area. Thanks for all your help.abscate wrote:On travel and still not in front of computer so have to use my words.
Underneath the manifold on the front side of the engine ( towards passenger) is where the coolant hides attach to the thermostat area

Re: 2005 XC70 Coolant Leak
I will be in the process of removing Intake Manifold this weekend to identify and fix the Coolant Leak on my XC70. While in there I will check the PVC and clean if necessary. Can someone from their experience tell me what parts I absolutely need to have before taking this apart for the fear of eithe...
