fuel pressure drops

polygaryd: Beware that on the 850's FCP Groton and Euroaparts list the wrong part number. The correct part number includes all of those attached fuel lines. It is possibly the same as for your car. However, if this is the case, I still think you might be able to use the cheaper part. If it is like t...

Hard starting/leaking fuel pressure-related? '97 850 wagon

polygaryd- Hopefully there is an image below (if not and let me know your regular email address and I'll email all of them to you). It is the fuel pressure regulator plus the mess of hoses. In the background is the traditional massive Volvo fuel pump. The shortest of the hoses goes straight from the...

Hard starting/leaking fuel pressure-related? '97 850 wagon

I figured out what my problem was. I think it would help you guys: The '97 850 wagon had trouble starting occasionally. During the trouble shooting process, I found that the fuel pressure regulator always lost all pressure a few seconds after the pump was shut off (the pump was hot wired on, the eng...

Hard starting/leaking fuel pressure-related? '97 850 wagon

Hello all- My wife's '97 850 wagon sometimes doesn't want to start right away. It will take anywhere from a little longer to finally fire to several attempts to start it. This past winter (hopefully past anyway), it ALWAYS started fine when cold soaked down to 0F overnight. The ignition stuff (wires...

The P0422 TC is for a "three way catalytic convertor efficency" code as the earlier replys stated. I don't think it has anything to do with your airpump because the air pump's purpose it to pump air when the engine is just started and rather cold. It runs occasionally even when warm to che...

Heater-A/C outside air flapper arm '97 850 wagon

Hello all- I replaced my wife's heater fan motor today. In the process, I noticed that the bellcrank for the outside air flapper was disconnected from the recirculation motor's square shaft. This explains why the flapper would clunk as you were first accelerating sometimes. I tried to put the bellcr...

Does the motor come apart?

Hello all-
I forgot to ask. Does the motor come apart? Do you know if the bearings are ball bearings or bushings?
Thanks
Dave

Can heater fan be removed from motor of '97 850 wagon?

The wife's heater fan is squeeling (no big surprise) hence so is she (no big surprise either). I know a place that rebuilds motors very high quality at a reasonable price. Can the fan be removed from the motor without destroying the fan? Is it difficult to get it out of the car? It looks like you ju...

Air pump repair

Hello-
I have a way to fix the air pump. You need to be handy, but it entails simply replacing the seezed bearing. If you are interested, I'll send a power point file with pictures (there are a few tricks to taking the pump apart). If you are interested, let me know.
