Re: 1998 S70 T5 Engine Swap from 98 V70 GLT

So if I am keeping the same T5 turbo then keep the same T5 ECU? The T5 was close to 300k and the V70 I am looking at purchasing is 190k, sorry its in kilometres, lol. It was already misfiring and my bf pushed it too hard and it went kaput.

Re: 1998 S70 T5 Engine Swap from 98 V70 GLT

Zero compression in the third cylinder. 5th is on its way out. I was told by a volvospeed member to keep the 16T, the white injectors and the T5 ECU, and that it would run smoothly. Is this true?

1998 S70 T5 Engine Swap from 98 V70 GLT

I am looking to put a 1998 V70 GLT block into my 1998 S70 T5. Can anyone direct me to a write-up/DIY for this? Has anyone tried this before? Tips, tricks, issues or suggestions. I am a newbie at this. I found the following write up for an engine swap, I just want to make sure the same rules apply fo...

Re: 1998 S70 T5 Taking weight off

My main concern will be how my car takes corners. The pure weight of the car is causing some body roll, even with my upgraded suspension.

Also, with taking out all the interior, will it greatly effect the weight distribution? If so, what can I do to combat this?

1998 S70 T5 Taking weight off

There's a track opening in a couple years in my city and I am trying to make the volvo track ready. Just wanted to know, what you guys suggest for lightening the car? I'm a beginner, so please bear with me and all my questions. :D

What manual is better for attempting to do the valves? The Chilton manual or Haynes?

Re: 1998 S70 T5 Sputters at Idle. on braking, poor accelerat

Sorry it took forever to update. They did a compression test on my car and there was ZERO compression in my third cylinder. Very upset about the news. They said its not worth doing the repairs, I think I will just save up for a crate engine. I can't drive anything but Volvo.

Re: 1998 S70 T5 Sputters at Idle. on braking, poor accelerat

Thats what they claim? But I think I will just get them to do a level 1 diagnosis anyway. So they will check the fuel and ignition system, as well as do a compression test.
