Now I remember I bought it on Ebay from a aftermarket parts seller called Deutscheparts USA. Any body else had this issue with a heater core ? I'm worried that the odor may be toxic.

I replaced the heater core in my 98 V70 a year ago with a German made unit I bought from Ebay. It no longer smells like anti freeze but worse - more like some chemical perhaps sprayed on the heater core during manufacture to protect the unit from corrosion.
