Have a 2006 S40 I just bought that blew a tensioner bearing and jumped time.Marking on intake cam is very hard to see.Knowing it probably bent valves I want to retime and check compression first. Does anyone know if the marks are like an 2.8L S80. Having trouble finding info on this engine for this ...

I started having that problem with my 99 S80 and I started pushing the W button every time I started the car and problem does not happen . Hope this helps you also.

Jim This could possibly be a rattle in ccv at cams did you reset ccv.

Jim I don't think the cams would have slipped a complete turn.I would not advise turning them at this point.Sometimes if they slip it will purge lifters of oil and take awhile to pump air out. I would suggest a
stethascope to more verify your noise.

When stopping at a stoplight when hot in D the trans acts like it doesn't return to first thus slipping on takeoff.Like its in fouth or still in tc lockin. I can change to W mode it does ok. Does anyone know what the W mode changes. Does it go to a differant section in the TM or what? . W mode doesn...
