Had the same problem with my 850. Turned out to be a broken EGR hose. From my experience, the exhaust seemed to be forced into the cabin when the car was in motion, so maybe this explains why there was little odour while idling.

Maybe front CV axles? Would certainly explain the change in vibration between turning and straight line driving.....could also explain a vibration or shudder under initial load.....
