Re: P3 lower control arm replacement procedure writeup (XC70 2008)
With the correct length pry bar it takes very little force to hold it down, but you might need a helper because there is not much else you can do while holding it. I tried using a chain around the control arm and connecting that to a bar, but this proved unnecessary. My guess is that either the pry ...

Re: S90, 1998, Flashing Blue AC Light
I just repaired my server motor that caused the same code on the ECC. The motor is located behind the glove box. Easy to get to. Take out glove box, then you can see the servo motor which is connected to a metal arm. Carefully unsnap the metal arm up from the white plastic holder tabs. There are two...

Re: P3 lower control arm replacement procedure writeup (XC70 2008)
One more thing I will add that might make this easier is to pop out the axle from the wheel. This gives much better mobility of the whole knuckle because the only thing holding it at that point is the strut mount. The guy in this video shows the axle punching out process (although I am not so sure a...

Re: P3 lower control arm replacement procedure writeup (XC70 2008)
Oh no! I’m sorry to hear that happened. It may be too late, at least for this side, but for future reference or the other side, the ball joint should be pretty easy to get in because once you flip the strut back over the control arm to the correct position, all you need to do is pry down the control...

P3 lower control arm replacement procedure writeup (XC70 2008)
I just went through replacement of my front lower control arms (along with tie rod ends and sway bar links) and had some moments of frustration until I uncovered the order, which made it much easier. My 2008 XC70 has 181K miles, and everything in the suspension is original. For the benefit of others...

Re: I'm stuck - '97 960 Heater Core rear ducts removal
Wow, two engine swaps... I did the heater core test in a 5 gallon bucket of water with an old bicycle tube. I was able to pump to about 10 PSI before the tube exploded and didn't notice anything except for a tiny bubble (which was most likely air caught in the fins as opposed to a leak). So my confi...

Re: I'm stuck - '97 960 Heater Core rear ducts removal
Update: The interior part of the job is complete. I took it slow, a couple of hours here and there, rather than try my patience all at once. The hardest part of the job is really whenever you don't know what to do. I am doing a complete cooling flush and then will connect the core for the real test....

Re: '97 960 can't find engine drain plug
Well, I seem to be adept at answering my own questions! For the benefit of someone else with the question: I did some research to learn that the oil cooler lines are actually coolant lines that flow into a "pancake" style heat exchanger at the oil filter. So that nipple on the right-angled...

'97 960 can't find engine drain plug
I am changing the coolant and have searched forums and looked at VIDA pics. Everything says there is a drain nipple on the passenger side of the block. The image I have from VIDA and also the owners manual points to the front of the engine on the passenger side. All I have there is a steel line comi...

Re: I'm stuck - '97 960 Heater Core rear ducts removal
Thanks for the support. It gives me a boost to hear from people who have been there before! I did the bypass last winter after I couldn't see through the foggy windshield anymore. The core I got is the Hella/Behr (eBay from Eastern Europe) but it does have plastic connectors. I want to get a decade ...
