Re: 2000 V70XC Uneven tire wear/Rear Control Arm Bushings

I may be wrong, but if I recall correctly that bush is NLA as is the one on the end of the upper control arm. However, do check the bush at the front of that trailing arm as they do go bad and separate. Thanks! I checked around and you are right that bushing on the end of the control arm is no long...

2000 V70XC Uneven tire wear/Rear Control Arm Bushings

I'm trying to track down the cause of some tire wear on my 2000 V70XC. The last set of relatively inexpensive tires lasted 40,000 miles, not too bad but they did suffer some uneven wear on the inside.  These tires are from the left/driver side but both sides look about the same. _DSF5188.JPG I've be...

Re: 2000 V70 XC Excessive Crankcase Pressure

Thanks for the suggestions. I finally have everything back together. I put a rubber glove over the dipstick tube and I do indeed get vacuum at idle. If I gun the engine in neutral the glove starts to inflate but immediately deflates. If I give it a lot of gas in drive with the brake on I can get the...

Re: 2000 V70 XC Excessive Crankcase Pressure

When you did the work the last time around on the PCV did you use Volvo or aftermarket parts? I had an aftermarket elbow (the short 'J' shaped one from the side of the pcv box) split after only 700km! So if you used aftermarket parts and they lasted 3 years you are on a bonus! Replaced with genuine...

Re: Coolant on the carpet, from where?

I just fixed a leak in the same spot on my 2000 V70XC. With wet carpets and slowly dropping coolant level I was prepared to replace the heater core but instead tracked it down to simply a loose bolt: The torx head bolt that holds the hard pipes to the back the housing for the heater core. I tightene...

2000 V70 XC Excessive Crankcase Pressure

Car: 2000 V70 XC Mileage: 125000 mi Problem: Excessive Crankcase Pressure Symptoms: I initially noticed some oil leaking from the filler cap a couple of weeks ago, and then later a small oil leak under the car that appeared to be coming from the oil return port of the oil separator in the PCV system...

Re: 98 V70 T5 Wastegate Rod Adjustment Results Topic is solved

What does the engine number say next to exhaust port number 1 ? Looks like number is hiding behind the heatshield and I was running out of time so I didn't get there. The S/N sticker on the timing belt cover just notes B5244T. I did find a chart listing the engine here - http://forums.swedespeed.co...

Re: 98 V70 T5 Wastegate Rod Adjustment Results Topic is solved

I'm in the middle of re-installing my turbo right now, so this is a very timely topic! I understand how to set the wastegate, but can't find the proper pressure to use for my car. I have a 2000 V70 XC with a B5244T engine. I watched the IPD video and found the chart at the end, but this engine is no...

Re: v70xc Turbo Replacement Question

You have a 13t stock. I get conflicting info on that one, however the sure way to tell is to look at the one on the car right? http://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=18342 If the 13T and 13G are interchangable it just give me more options for finding good condition used ones. Thank...

v70xc Turbo Replacement Question

I have a 2000 v70xc with 120000 miles on it in need of a new turbo (has shaft play and wheel shows signs of rubbing on the housing). A little research indicates that these turbos usually last a long time so my plan is to find a used one to replace it with, and hopefully determine what caused this on...
