1997 850 wagon 131K (car is for sale) Well here we go with the great gas mileage discussion. On a road trip in Northern CA I get about 30 mpg on cruise control and not exceeding 70 mph. This would be at about 80 degrees, 87 octane gas, new tires and 36 psi tire pressure. No car load. Between local t...

My thoughts:

An installed rebuilt engine will exceed the probable value of your car. What will likely fail next? Do you think it is worth it. A car failing continously is not a safe car for your wife.

My amateur thoughts:

Perhaps a connector was knocked loose. Look at the compressor clutch connector to see if it is in place. You can raise hood and listen for it as it cycles. Look at any connectors you can see. I would not expect any refrigrent
lines to be loose.

1997 855 Black fluid is not good. My owners manual makes no recommendation as to the hydraulic fluid service. People on this site talk about 30K and 60K changes. Dealer change about $300. The changers on the corner suck the fluid out thru the fill tube with vacuum. This gets the ATF in the sump but ...

Hi, Is there any way of testing the sensors to see if they are working OK? Mike The following is not a substitute for professional advice. Yes if you have the right test equipment. 1. Jack up the wheel. 2. Disconnect the sensor cable. 3. Connect an oscilloscope to sensor. 4. Spin wheel. You should ...

When welding is done be sure to follow special proceedures to prevent damage to the controls. I believe a proceedure is discussed in the 95 850 shop manual. Look at top of forum.

1997 850 126K My rear deck upper trim is broken also. The dealer has a kit for 18$. Metal plates and sheet medal screws. You will need to drill holes of course. You should not continue to replace the same blown fuses. You may ruin the wiring. The locks are actuated by solenoids. A solenoid may be in...

ABS Alarm On, No Codes 1997 850

126K miles. First problem. ABS alarm light on continously. No other alarm lights. Tested with Equus 3110 code reader. No DTC codes and all 9 monitor Icons normal. Controller and modulator fuses good.

1. MIJ always sez replace controller??
2. ABS relay?

Your thoughts, thanks.

If you are still interested in some oil pressure gauges go to Ashcroft.com.
These are industrial gauges (4.5 inch dials) and are probably to large and expensive but its a start. A maximum pressure memory pointer is an option.
