Thank you - You hit the nail right on the head! The air pump was full to the top of water. I have secured a new check valve and VW air pump for the retrofit. I will keep you posted....

'97 850 was running fine, parked one night now it won't start. Battery, plugs, wires, cap and rotor all replaced - still nothing.
